Or am I missing the fact that there is a way to skip it without console command / mods? I've started a couple new characters and the intro / tutorial period is waaaay too tedious. Like most have said in the replies, just going through the intro and saving right before the elevator to exit the Vault (with the name 'New Game' or something as an option to make it more clear what that save file is) and then just loading that file when you want to start a new game.
